Formerly intended as a dwelling and a Provençal farmhouse, the mas housed entire families, from the youngest to the oldest. Everyone could easily gather around a large table. Exceptional residences, the bastides belonged to the noble families who lived there during the summer period in the Middle Ages. Their development took off between the 17th and 18th centuries.
